This web page is dedicated to The Smiths, a four piece rock band who offered the teenagers of the 1980s an alternative to monotonous "love rock" and in doing so changed the course of music forever. After four albums the band had set up the advent of The Stone Roses and The Happy Mondays, as well as securing their own place in the musical hall of fame. Lead singer Morrissey and guitarist Johnny Marr would later go on to achieve further success, but neither have ever managed to recapture the spirit of one of the best bands ever to have graced the stage. This website contains an illustrated summary of the Smith's career, a small photo gallery, plus links to other Smiths sites which contain galleries and videos. I intend to add videos of my own compiled from these other sites, along with lyrics and a discography.
